These planters make use of my collection of paper collage cut outs that didn’t make it into a final work but still have a special quality that begs to be shared. Coloured enamel paint left over from my earlier forays into contemporary jewellery has been brushed on and paired with a mix of carefully selected images that relate to each other in theme, colour and mood.

Adding the right plant to compliment or contrast with each pot is the final step in this process and it’s completely up to you to have fun with. If you choose a hanging or creeping plant, its vines or loose flowing leaves will hang over the edge and conceal or frame different elements, further adding to the layered effect.

Best used indoors out of constant and direct sunlight. Paper collage elements have been protected with a double layer of matt varnish but aren’t completely water or fade proof. Avoid scratching sides to maintain enamel coating. Over time these pots may show signs of wear and a life lived with its leafy tenant.
